We asked how you use 36 Parables. Here's another answer!

Dear 36:

We are using it for a summer series - and it promises to help us overcome a summer slump.

We are coordinating both worship services AND Sunday School around the parables. It will be a multi-media extravaganza for us; video, live skits, discussion groups, games (for the younger ones) etc. Our drama team plans on presenting a one-person drama (skit) to the combined group then we will separate into three groups (age appropriate) and experience the parable.

Dear 36:

I'm doing Summer message series called Snapshots of the Kingdom that focuses on Jesus' "the kingdom of God is like..." parables.

How Will I Use Them:
I have set up a new message format that allows me to do the talking head thing the first Sunday of the month. The second Sunday we do an overtime rap session after the service. While the third and fourth Sunday are interactive and experiential in nature. The 3rd Sunday I will use the video as a visual that will lead into our interactive discussions sessions. We will then give our folks an opportunity to identify talent that they have hidden or suppressed.
And finally on the fourth Sunday of the month our GO! Sunday (we do a short and then spend the rest of the time serving in our community) our people will get a chance to go! put their talent to work inside and outside the church.

Bible Studies & How Did I hear About Parable 36:
Well there it is. I am giving a lot of thought to joining the 36 club. I believe we could use the series in small groups.
