Dear Friends:

Before the last installment of "Confessions of a Youth Group Drop Out" here's an incredible testimonial received this week...

"I use 36 Parables because participants get more from my seminars when the sessions include a variety of communication media. I have used 36 Parables videos in several of my Stewardship workshops and the response has been nothing short of sensational - and right across the age spectrum from teenagers to seniors. The 36 Parables videos bring the gospel alive in the context of the 21st century. Participants have enjoyed the contemporary gospel messages in the videos very much. Based on my experience, 36 Parables helps stimulate reflection and discussion in a creative and dynamic way."

It sounds like our far-fetched plan of Illuminating Understanding is actually working. Now...

"Confessions of a Youth Group Drop Out Part IV":

IV.
Enough preaching on how to reach teens; as a humble Director of Photography I simply ask you to “Illuminate their Understanding” with something real rather than hype. Emptiness won’t connect with a person’s heart.
I'll admit that I'm a film snob. But it beats being a smug pop culture connoisseur berating the downfall of western culture due to mass marketing on one hand while using the same tactics to connect with a teen's heart on the other. Youth Group should be an introduction into a much larger world than pop culture. The right tools touch people with the resounding vibrations of Jesus through His creation and their art.

Matthew 13:34 Jesus spoke all these things to the crowd in parables; he did not say anything to them without using a parable.
