Dear Friends:
This week: 36 Parables in the real world part 2...
Cari Williams uses 36 Parables as a writing teacher at a High School.
As a high-school writing teacher, I enjoyed exposing my students to unique experiences with their writing. Introducing the 36 Parables films as writing prompts encouraged the students to think about writing in a new way. Utilizing film, which is an art form that goes hand in hand with writing, is something that isn't often done in writing classes. 36 Parables is such a beautiful, artistic group of films that the modern-day student will be thankful for a classroom experience that has the ability to interest him/her. On top of all this, 36 Parables are made to shed light on some of the mystery that surrounds the parables that Jesus told, and anything that communicates the message of Jesus in a clear, unique way and points back to the Bible itself is a successful tool for use in the classroom.
-Cari Williams
Next week, the first in a five part series titled "Illuminating Understanding: Light, Storytelling, and the Bible".
